Birth and Early Childhood in Kentucky - Nicknamed the Log Cabin Penny, this coin commemorates the birth and early childhood of Abraham Lincoln. Before he was buried in Springfield, Illinois, his body lay in state, visited by thousands of mourners, under the Capitol’s newly-completed dome. 2009 Lincoln Cents / Pennies: February 12, 2009.
