Home depot atv loading ramps4/28/2024 If you want a low bed you will have to use wider angle and a spacer to keep the ramp centered. I am going to put my bed high enough to see out the back windows under it. (My angle is out from the wall on L-track and I wanted the angle to not stick up above the edge of the ramp so the actual mattress can extend over the angle on mine.Īt 65.5 long you can put them pretty high. I forgot to measure the thickness, but it is just at 1.5". The chains are held on with a bolt and nylock nut inside. 3/16 would probably be just as good or better. (I ran out and took some photos for you.)ġ1/64 drill is what I used to drill out the rivets for the hinges and the extensions. (I bought the panels when I was waiting for delivery of the van.)Īctual dimensions of each panel are 37x166cm 14.57"圆5.35" (with hinges and extension removed) Here is the information I wished I could find when I was doing the same thing. For lengthwise you might need two of them, but it would be way cheaper than buying one of the bed solutions. It looks like the price has gone down from $99 and you can always get a 20% off coupon. I could make larger panels with fewer cross members.) (I don't have a welder so thin wall aluminum and welding was out, and I'm not sure I could buy raw material much cheaper. There was no way I could do it with 80/20 at this weight or prices. It was the lightest way I could find make strong bed panels. I am using the harbor freight 3 fold ramp. I am just trying to give you a bunch of info quickly) Only thing that could make this project cooler than it already is would be to do a "pro" job on a " value" budget. Looks doable and certainly is not rocket science. ![]() Anyone build their own roof rack, ala Aluminesse, or RB components. Would like to hear about this kind of project or any other " hey, I can build that myself" ideas. Wondering if anyone has done a really nice job of using a couple of ATV ramps to fabricate platform panels to sit on angle iron rails riv-nutted to the walls. One relatively pricey item can be a 3 panel platform bed. Will consider things like a Truckfridge 130 instead of an Isotherm refrigerator, Espar D2 instead of D4, IKEA sink vs RV specific etc. $20000CAD total budget for my conversion so I need to look for savings as I go along. Near as I can figure this will cost approx. Will also use a Victron battery monitor and Cold charge disconnect kit. Planning to put together my own LiFePo4 360 ah battery using Calb cells and BMS/ balancer from Electric car parts company. Have pretty much settled on what I will do for Power system using 3x100w Renogy solar panels, auxiliary alternator, Victron smart solar Mppt charge controller that will allow me to add another 100w panel, and a Victron multiplus compact 12v/2000w inverter charger. If not it will continue to sit in my shop or get sold to someone in better shape to use as shown in the videos Mine was $400.00 shipped with discount, but thinking I could have found a longer better made trifold for 1/2 that as a better solution to my situation.Nothing to do while we wait for our July delivery but plan scheme and surf! Did search the ramp / bed but looking for someone to "show off" their latest, greatest version. I recently bought a new Frontier that is much lower and will try the ramp on that when the weather gets better and hope it works better for me. I bought the extra step version thinking to use it on my stock 2018 Ford-150 but it still has a very steep angle and requires a buddy to help me load up. My easiest, safest way to load and unload takes a couple steps to get up and down - Slow and steady wins. Also, really narrow and zero room for error requiring loading the bike in 1 smooth move. I haven't ridden my bike up into back of my truck since I was younger and no worry about hurting myself on occasion doing it Got the step ramp and it's built really well, but super heavy. Their vids show people starting their bike with electric start and walking it up the ramp with no hesitation. Saw the videos for step ramp and thought it was a great solution- maybe. ![]() 1st, I'm 65 and have bad knees, back and poor balance and been using the old tri-fold aluminum ramp for decades. I have a step ramp and mixed feelings about it.
